The Center, as a separate and distinct department of the University, is responsible for supporting the University mission and goals which include:

  • Vision 2006 Points:
    • Professional development and credentialing of faculty in delivering quality programs
    • Online course and program delivery of curriculum content developed by faculty and third parties.
  • Establishment of the University Center for Teaching Excellence and Distance Learning which provides professional development opportunities from basic teaching skills and technology use and application competencies to advanced design and development of web-based and online courses and materials.  

Team Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for CTEDL
  • Assess college and faculty needs for instructional services
  • Define roles and responsibilities of University college deans and chairs in the evaluation of instructional deliveries
  • Design and implement appropriate production facilities which provide required training and development resources  
  • Provide core instructional and training services
  • Provide training in multiple media instructional design for course development
  • Provide training in the design of web-based course templates
  • Measure results of progress in continuum
  • Perform quality control assessment to ensure compliance with CTEDL standards
  • Track emerging technological alternatives for teaching and learning
  • Maintain and prioritize project management schedule
  • Manage contractors and outsourcing to meet project commitments
