The
first two CTEDL Bridging the Gap series on Culturally Responsive Teaching
(CRT) were held in September and October for Providence faculty.
The theme was “How does
culture impact your teaching?” The focus is on how culture has influenced
the values and beliefs of individual faculty members and how this
has impacted their classrooms. Materials from the seminars can be
found in the CTEDL public folder.
The
Master Teacher Initiative candidates have submitted their teaching
portfolios for consideration in the next and final step, the
interview process. Interviews
will take place during the Winter term. Final selection of
candidates will be announced during the Spring term.
The CTEDL-CSL collaborative held a seminar “How CSL benefits teaching
and learning at J&W? Faculty members Lisa Sisco, Graduate School, and Laura Gabiger, A & S,
presented their experiences using service learning in their classrooms.
